About NIIE
The Nigeria Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NIIE), established under the Corporate Law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (RC: 1909383), is dedicated to fostering a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.
We aim to build generations of innovative entrepreneurs and enterprise managers through comprehensive capacity-building initiatives, tailored business support services, and robust networking opportunities. Our unique platform connects entrepreneurs with mentors, industry leaders, and global networks to promote sustainable and prosperous economic development. NIIE's mission is to cultivate a mindset of innovation, nurture a culture of entrepreneurship, and empower visionary leaders to drive the growth of Nigeria's economy.
Objectives of NIIE
- To promote professionalism in the domain of innovation and entrepreneurship, mobilize, train, coach, mentor, build capacity of members of the Nigeria Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, their businesses, and assist prospective entrepreneurs on various aspects such as preparing project reports, obtaining project approvals, loans and facilities from relevant institutions.
- To promote entrepreneurial mindset, entrepreneurship culture and practice among members thereby developing generations of innovative entrepreneurs and business development service providers that will serve as agents of accelerating sustainable, prosperous and inclusive economy through induction, entrepreneurship education, linkages, access to finance, mentorship, incubation and continuous professional training series.
- To develop competent business support service providers among NIIE members who are desirous of engaging in business consultancy services or aspiring consultants supporting MSMEs.
- To improve efficiency, effectiveness and delivery of the change agents and development practitioners i.e. trainers, support organizations engaged in enterprise building through business clinic models, industrial learning and tours, and other innovative approaches.
- To facilitate the discovery of hidden talents, endowments, and entrepreneurial opportunities within our members' backgrounds, and support the conversion of such opportunities or ideas into profitable and successful businesses.
- To periodically organize entrepreneurship boot camps, capacity-building sessions, business incubation fora, and idea showcases for startups, venture capital investors, and promote effectiveness and efficiency in enterprise management through the adoption of technology.
- To promote and support public policies, legislation, and executive measures for enhancing the growth of innovation and entrepreneurship education and practice, and other economic activities in Nigeria.
- Create a robust and extensive business network in Nigeria and the global community through corporate collaboration and institutional synergy that would be mutually beneficial to us and the businesses of our members.
- To carry out professional membership admission, nomination, induction, training, and examinations that will qualify prospective members into the umbrella of the Institute family and for filling in the following professional and non-professional membership grades: Students/Artisan Membership, Graduate Membership, Associate Membership, Full Membership, Fellowship, and Corporate Membership.
- To liaise with governments, undertake capacity building for informal trader’s associations as well as develop incubators and create successful enterprises through partnerships with the private sector in skill transfer, enterprise development, supplier development, and marketing opportunities; develop and maintain a BDS/EDP providers register.
- To collaborate with any legal entity, Body, or Group having objects similar to those of the Institute and/or engaged in business development, economic activities, and to encourage and support any society for the promotion of Innovation and Entrepreneurship within and outside Nigeria.
- To improve efficiency, effectiveness, and delivery of the change agents and development practitioners i.e. trainers, support organizations engaged in enterprise building.
- To monitor, evaluate and regulate the implementation of the entrepreneurship skills development policies and to print and publish any literature in printing or publishing media, Journals, periodicals, books or leaflets whether online or in hard print, that the Institute may think desirable for the promotion of its activities.
- To establish Centres of excellence for capacity development, advanced research on the area of entrepreneurship and innovation, trade promotion, policy advocacy, investment promotion directly or in partnership with the Organized Private Sector, government or other corporate bodies.
